CUET stands for Central University Entrance Test. It is a national-level entrance examination to be taken by students who wish to pursue any of the following courses at the UG level in India. The exam is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). The purpose of this entrance exam is to ensure that candidates who wish to apply for admission into various Undergraduate, Integrated, Postgraduate, Diploma, Certification courses and Research Programmes in Central Universities.
Candidates who qualified in the Class 12 with a minimum of 50% marks are considered as eligible for the CUET exam based on the CUET eligibility criteria 2025. According to the CUET eligibility criteria, there is no age limit for CUET 2025. The CUET 2025 participating universities have different eligibility criteria based on the universities.
It is important to note that candidates who have not qualified in one or more subjects in the Class 12 examination, are not eligible to apply for CUET exam 2025. To be eligible for CUET exam 2025, it is mandatory to obtain a minimum qualifying marks of 50% in Class 12 exam for general candidates is and 45% for candidates who belong to reserved categories such as SC/ ST/ OBC-NCL.

In this section, candidates are required to submit a scanned copy of a high-resolution photograph of themselves along with a scanned copy of their signature (Photograph Size: 10KB – 100KB, Signature Size: 5KB – 20KB).
This step is crucial as you cannot change the subject or the university after you finalize the CUET 2025 application. The applicants have to choose a course or the university to which they want to secure admission. Once the course and university are selected, the candidate has to click on ‘Save & Proceed’ buttons for further instructions.
Section 1:- It checks the skill level of any one or two languages among the students. It is further divided into section 1A and section 1B.
Section 1A:- contains a total of 13 languages; English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu.
Section 1B:- contains a total of 20 languages: Arabic, Bodo, Chinese, Dogri, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Manipuri, Nepali, Persian, Russian, Santhali, Sindhi, Spanish, Tibetan, Sanskrit.
Section 2:- It checks the knowledge of students in domain subjects that they choose to appear in. There is a condition to choosing your domain subject and that is the domain subject that you are choosing, must be relevant to the subjects which you have studied in your class 12. Total of 27 Domain subjects are there.
Section 3:- General Knowledge, current affairs, General Mental Ability, Numerical Ability, Quantitative Reasoning (level of grade 8 only), Logical and Analytical Reasoning.
