The full form of ‘AFCAT’ is Air Force Common Admission Online Test. The AFCAT exam takes place twice in a year in the month of February and August. It is a multiple-stage exam conducted by Indian Air Force to select candidates as Class-I Gazetted officers in Flying & Ground Duty (Technical and Non-technical) branches.
This is for the first time AFCAT exam is taking place in online mode. Once you are selected after qualifying all the stages, you will have to undergo a training of 74 weeks, if you are selected in Flying and Ground Duty (Technical) Branches & a training of 52 weeks, if you are selected in Ground Duty (Non-technical) Branches at Air Force Training Establishments.
Indian Air Force has invited enthusiastic & adventurous Indian citizens (Men & Women) to join the Indian Air Force as commissioned officers in Flying, Ground Duty (Technical), Ground Duty (Non- Technical) branches through online applications for the courses commencing in July 2025 for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in Flying Branch and Permanent Commission (PC) / Short Service Commission (SSC) in Ground Duty (Technical) and Ground Duty (Non-technical) Branches. AFCAT Written Exam Pattern: The Written examination will carry all objective type questions and it is will be conducted via pen and paper mode (OMR sheets). There are 5 sections of General Awareness, Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning, and Military Aptitude Test. The exam will carry total 100 questions and each right answer will have weightage of 3 marks and 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer as negative marking.
EKT Exam Pattern: The Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) conducted to test engineering knowledge of candidates. The EKT is mandatory for candidates who have applied for Technical Ground Duty branch. This test will take place after the written examination of AFCAT 2025. It will carry total 50 questions and each write answer will have weigthage of 3 marks. 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer as negative marking.
Staff Selection Board (SSB) Interviews: After clearing the AFCAT 2025 written exam, candidates will have to face SSC interviews. It has 2 Stages:

As we know, the AFCAT II 2025 examination is expected to be held in August. Candidates who will successfully fill AFCAT 2 2025 Application Form will be able to download AFCAT 2025 Admit Card. The examination authority will released Admit Card before 10 to 15 days of exam on the official website. Candidates will be able to download AFCAT 2025 Call Letter by using their registration number and date of birth. Call letter / admit card is mandatory to carry because without it you will not get permission to appear in the examination.
Generally, the examination authority declares AFCAT Result after one or two months of examination. This year, the examination is expected to be held in August, so AFCAT (2) 2025 Result is expected to be declared in October or November on the official website. Only those candidates will be shortlisted for the SSB round who will clear the written examination. Candidates will be able to check AFCAT Result 2025 via roll number and name.
AFCAT Cut-off Marks are the minimum marks which are required to qualify in this examination. AFCAT Cut-Off Marks 2025 will be released soon after the declaration of result. The AFCAT Cut-Off 2025 marks will be based on difficulty level of the paper and number of students appeared in the examination. You can check previous year cut off marks of AFCAT exam.
