The total no. of IBPS SO Vacancies 2024 is 1,315. Since the IBPS SO exam takes place for various specialist posts, the number of vacancies differ from post to post. The detailed vacancies for various posts are as follows:
From 2024 onwards stage 2 i.e mains stage has been added. This signifies the competitiveness of the exam. However, this isn’t the only change in IBPS specialist officer exam pattern. A couple of more changes have been introduced which have been mentioned below –

The IBPS SO selection takes place in 3 stages - Prelims, Mains & Interview. The Preliminary exam is just a qualifying exam and the marks that you score in the Prelims are not counted towards final merit list preparation.
Once you clear the Prelims stage, you qualify for the Mains exam. Thereafter, the selected candidates will be called for the Interview. Your final selection depends upon your collective performance in Mains Exam & Interview.

IBPS SO preliminary examination is scheduled to be held tentatively in the month of December 2025.According to the notification examination call letter can be downloaded tentatively from September , 2025.The IBPS SO mains exam will be tentatively held on 27th January 2025.
The Centre, venue address, date and time for both Preliminary and Main examinations and interview shall be intimated in the respective Call Letter. An eligible candidate should download his/her call letter from the authorised IBPS website www.ibps.in by entering his/ her details i.e. Registration Number and Password/Date of Birth. No hard copy of the call letter/ Information Handout etc. will be sent by post/ courier.
This exam will be conducted in the month of July. IBPS officially releases separate sectional and overall Cut off marks for each phase of Specialist Officer selection process. Candidates need to score marks equal to or greater than those cut off marks in each phase to get selected for the subsequent stages of the IBPS SO recruitment process. IBPS releases Cut off marks along with the IBPS SO Result of each stage of SO selection process viz, prelims, Mains, Interview.
