Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is an organization under Government of India to recruit staff for various posts in the various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and in Subordinate Offices.This commission is an attached office of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) which consists of Chairman, two Members and a Secretary-cum-Controller of Examinations.The full form of ‘SSC CPO’ is Staff Selection Commission Central Police Organisation. Staff Selection Commission or SSC conducts the SSC CPO Exam every year in 2 Tiers.
The educational qualifications, age limit, and nationality of the candidates are considered in the eligibility criteria of SSC CPO Recruitment 2025 for the post of probationary officers. You should have Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognised University.
For the post of Sub Inspector in Delhi Police (only) – Male candidates must possess a valid Driving License for LMV (Motor cycle and Car) as on the date fixed for Physical Endurance and Standard Tests. Otherwise, you will not be allowed to undergo Physical Endurance and Standard Tests.
The candidate’s age should not be below 20 and not more than 25 years as on 01. 01. 2025 which means he/she must not be born before 01.01.2000 and not after 01.01.1995. Check out the age relaxation for various categories in the table below.

In the year 2025 SSC has released 1223 vacancies (tentative) for SSC CPO Exam. The vacancies are announced for Sub-Inspector post in Delhi Police, Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBPF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and Assistant Sub-Inspector in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). The SSC CPO exam will take place in 2 stages – Paper I and Paper II. After you qualify both the Papers, you will need to go through a mandatory Physical Endurance Test before you are recruited. However, your selection will be based on SSC CPO Paper I & II.

This is an online based examination consisting of 200 marks in 2 hour of time duration. This exam will test your English Language & Comprehension skills.

Due to administrative reasons, SSC has postponed the SSC CPO Paper I exam which was earlier scheduled from 4th to 10th June 2025. The fresh dates for Paper I will soon be released by the Staff Selection Commission.
